Cycles & Spots continue the SampleMod series in which one sample is so modified that it turns into something else, in this case mostly into soundscapes. 254 new fresh samples are integrated, external ones can be imported by Drag & Drop. The difference here is that a grain sampler is used to rather play larger pieces of the audio (those can be also faded this time) and the triggering depends on the selected range (can be modulated), this leads to interesting off the grid soundscapes. The 2 (combinable) LFOs have 5 destinations to keep changes happening over time.

Cycles & Spots present the follow up to Rhythm, a percussion instrument for Native Instruments' Reaktor. 800 fresh new loops are integrated in this version which also offers extended functionality. 8 sample players can be seperatly manipulated in loop range (so polyrhythms can be made), start, frequency, playback modes & speeds. Rhythm 2 also let's you now use a 4 band equalizer and apply 4 effects for each player seperaty. These effects are reverb, delay, tremolo (panner) and a phaser. Simple inspirations and complex percussive structures can be easily made from experimental material up to full House Music based beats. Snapshots (presets) can be triggered via MIDI input and like this bigger structures (song mode) can be crafted. 50 snapshots are integrated. Samples vary from top loops, kicks, traditional percussion, 808s, kitchen recordings to even full beats. The instrument features also seperate mono outputs for each sampler for those who prefer this over the in-built effects.

Cycles & Spots deliver 310 Wav loops inspired by the Musique Concrète genre from the early 20th Century for Ambient / Experimental productions. These loops are partly made from real life Foley recordings, partly from musical instrument recordings and then were transformed into new contexts, sometimes rhythmical and other times on the texture side. Tape mimicking techniques were used and also modernized effects like buffer manipulation were added to keep the spirit of the genre but resulting in still fresh sounding material to create temporary Ambient music with a certain edge. Most loops come with many variations. Use single loops to get inspired or combine multiple ones and build soundscapes and more with this collection.
