Cycles & Spots are back with interesting Ambient / Experimental content in the form of 300 Wav loops. These loops contain content in the categories textures, granular and vox, meaning there's everything in it to build song structures or soundscapes in the wide realm of Ambient and / or Experimental music. Mostly modular synthesis has been used to archive the targeted results and some granular synthesis as well. Single loops can be used to start creations and also multiple loops can be layered. The content may also be just what is missing in already started projects. In any way, there's lot to explore within these 1.5 Gigabyte of content from the 2nd installment of Abstract Ambient.

Deep Data Loops dusted off the old tape machine in the attic and crafted 344 reels in 3 categories: Acoustic Harmony, Acoustic Percussion and Synthesizer. This makes this pack useful in multiple genres like Ambient, Experimental, Musique Concrete, Hip Hop (Chopping) and more. Naturally the loops come with all the characteristics of old tape reels like flutter, wow, reverse, delays and such, sometimes more and other times less. You can easily find matching content or you use single loops to fill or build on tracks. This pack suits also well for collages and soundscapes. Purposely you won't find loops with strict quantization, in fact all comes from human feel to keep it authentic to the 1960s / 1970s use of tape machines.

Cycles & Spots crafted a loops recorder in Reaktor that follows the basic idea of having 4 tape machines in your studio, though it didn’t quit stop there. This instrument can add randomness to the playbacks and by that can build everchanging compositions. Another main point is to have no tempo syncronization which adds more unpredictability and excitement. Double and half speed, forward and reverse play, amplitude envelope triggers and volumes can be manually set or randomly triggered. To get more of the old skool vibe, a tape sound emulation can be turned on for a bit of saturation and less or more of flutter and wow. On top of that the instrument features a tremolo effect for volume or left / right panning (also random rate possible), a dubby delay (watch out for the feedback) and a big reverb. So it’s easy to get real big sounding pieces out of this. The instrument is mainly to make Ambient, experimental music or soundscapes but it all depends on what you feed it with.
