More fine Ambient / Experimental sound design from Cycles & Spots in the form of 50 long modulating samples / stems (Up to 3 minutes). These are meant to be either layered or to use single samples as a basis for a songs / soundscapes or you cut out pieces for further processing or to feed a granular synthesizer. As much as possible no reverb and delay have been used (unless crucial part of the design) for you to choose your own and apply to the samples (all of the content profits a lot from using reverb on top). A few of the samples use tempo synchronization but mostly no sync was the aim to keep it more interesting in the Ambient / Experimental context.

Cycles & Spots crafted a loops recorder in Reaktor that follows the basic idea of having 4 tape machines in your studio, though it didn’t quit stop there. This instrument can add randomness to the playbacks and by that can build everchanging compositions. Another main point is to have no tempo syncronization which adds more unpredictability and excitement. Double and half speed, forward and reverse play, amplitude envelope triggers and volumes can be manually set or randomly triggered. To get more of the old skool vibe, a tape sound emulation can be turned on for a bit of saturation and less or more of flutter and wow. On top of that the instrument features a tremolo effect for volume or left / right panning (also random rate possible), a dubby delay (watch out for the feedback) and a big reverb. So it’s easy to get real big sounding pieces out of this. The instrument is mainly to make Ambient, experimental music or soundscapes but it all depends on what you feed it with.
