Cycles & Spots crafted a loops recorder in Reaktor that follows the basic idea of having 4 tape machines in your studio, though it didn’t quit stop there. This instrument can add randomness to the playbacks and by that can build everchanging compositions. Another main point is to have no tempo syncronization which adds more unpredictability and excitement. Double and half speed, forward and reverse play, amplitude envelope triggers and volumes can be manually set or randomly triggered. To get more of the old skool vibe, a tape sound emulation can be turned on for a bit of saturation and less or more of flutter and wow. On top of that the instrument features a tremolo effect for volume or left / right panning (also random rate possible), a dubby delay (watch out for the feedback) and a big reverb. So it’s easy to get real big sounding pieces out of this. The instrument is mainly to make Ambient, experimental music or soundscapes but it all depends on what you feed it with.

Cycles & Spots deliver more fine MIDI files made with modular synthesis / generative techniques and this time the double amount, meaning 10 compositions, each with 3 tracks which are 128 bars long (Around 4/5 minutes depending on the BPM). These tracks consist of bass, chords and melodies. There are no rendered Wav files included, this fun part of chooding the synthesizer sounds is completely for you to explore and enjoy. There are though 30 second examples to identify / preview the compositions and moreover to give inspirational ideas. To make the compositions even more generative / alive we recommend the following techniques: Use (random) modulation of the ADSR amp envelopes to shorten or lengthen the notes, randomize filters, effects or other controls of your synths and lastly you could try arpeggiators on top of the MIDI files.

Deep Data Loops with 10 construction kits (Wav loops and MIDI files) in a 1980s Vaporwave aesthetic style. These kits are not sample-based and therefore unique and more accessable to further process and to give them the typical Vaporwave treatment like degrading the sound, filtering, adding lots of big reverbs and whatever more (glitch) effects you like. Mostly perfect is also adding vinyl or tape emulation effects for instance. The given MIDI files even give you the possibilty to change the sounds, maybe you prefer more 90s style ones as an example. Of course there's enough more 80s synths to choose from. Or maybe you don't want to produce Vaporwave songs at all, that's why the sound of this collection is clean to begin with. They can be used as well for many other genres like Synthwave, Ambient, Pop.
